Live the Legend |

photo-5SHOT 2014 comes to an end today – the curtain closes on what has arguably been one of the finest shows ever. Retailers, outdoor press, and sporting goods buyers come from all 50 states plus more than 100 countries for this once-a-year industry event. More than 1,600 exhibitors fill booth space covering 630,000 square feet to showcase their wares to more than 62,000 industry professionals. In addition to a plethora of gadgets and gear for the hunter-shooter, the show offers a uniquely diverse Law Enforcement and Armed Forces section for agency and department purchasing agents.  SHOT is truly the pulse of your hunting and shooting industry…and it is thriving better than ever before. Hats off to the National Shooting Sports Foundation for another show to remember.

shot-2Five days in Las Vegas have come and gone with many exciting things happening at Winchester. The first day was Media Day where the Big Red W informed and entertained the outdoor press with some great new product demonstrations and a whole lot of hands-on action…both with Winchester firearms and Winchester ammunition. Days two through five had thousands of retailers from across the country and around the globe stopping by the Winchester booth to check up on all of the new products for 2014, and to visit with many of the Winchester staff and Team Winchester members. The Drury brothers stopped by early in the show to share some of their favorite features about the new extended-range Long Beard XR turkey load which is certain to be a crowd favorite at the upcoming National Wild Turkey Federation convention in February. Five-time Olympic Medalist Kim Rhode set up residence and shared some tips on shotgun shooting and the importance of practice and consistency. Personal defense trainer Rob Pincus explained some methods of utilizing tactical operations to those interested in developing defensive skills. Winchester World of Whitetail host Ron Spomer delivered some insights on the Model 70 – what made it so good when it was first introduced over 75 years ago, and what makes it so great today. Last but certainly not least and not to be outdone were Lee and Tiffany who stopped by to talk a little Crush and their new partnership with Winchester Ammunition.

2014 is certain to be a great year for new hunting stories, the latest shooting accomplishments, and more time spent with family and friends in the woods and fields. Be it hunting for deer, waterfowl, turkey, or predator – or shooting at the clays course or rifle range – or for home protection…The “American Legend” will be with you every step of the way.
